Google has dominated search engines, online videos (youtube), e-mail (gmail), word processing/spreadsheets (Google docs), image sharing (picasa and google images), and countless others, but what is there possibly left to be taken over you may ask.

Well, the only thing that they have left to take is operating systems.  So far you have three choices, but for most people you will only have two.  Most people will choose either a PC (Microsoft Windows), or you will be using a Mac (Apple OS).  There are also those few who use Ubuntu/Linux which though it isn’t as practical for most computer users.

Google is in the process of creating a new operating system, which of course like everything else google, will be 100% free.  The operating system’s name is Chromium (http://www.chromium.org/), and it is all about the internet, and making it as simple as possible.  They took their web browser Google Chrome (http://chrome.google.com) and have turned it into an entire operating system, so you can load your computer up in seconds, and you won’t have to save anything to your computer, it will all be saved online.

Not too far in the future, I think that this will be one of the major operating systems, though it is likely that people who are very tech savvy won’t use it because the simplicity isn’t needed, but for everyone else who just needs to check e-mail, socialize, watch videos, play games, this will be the perfect operating system, and the best part is that it will be very lite, meaning it won’t take up much hard drive space on your computer, nor will it require super expensive power house.
